Winning the S.O.C.I.A.L Dating Game! is an exploration of leading human-centred change through the S.O.C.I.A.L framework (it’s a variation on a theme of SCARF and, ImHO, an improvement!).

Using the dating metaphor we collectively uncover how we can connect best when the following needs, desires and values are taken into account in change – dating is the metaphor that we carry over to change later in the workshop.

The S.O.C.I.A.L model stands for:-

Safety – both physical and psychological (I have a voice)
Objectivity – perception of fairness, equity and justice (I’m treated equitably)
Certainty – the need to know predict (I know what’s expected)
Importance – a sense of validation, recognition and status (I matter)
Autonomy – the perception of choice or control (I am empowered)
Love (Connection) – belonging to a tribe, knowing that someone cares (I belong)

Workshop participants will come out with a deep appreciation of their unique hierarchy of S.O.C.I.A.L needs and how this impacts their behaviour, engagement and productivity when experiencing change, especially when these needs are not being met AND what to do about it!
